Dear Readers and Contributors,
Shri Panditguru Pardikar Mahavidyalaya, Sirsala, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Education & Welfare Society, Parbhani, successfully organized a One Day International Conference on “LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND SOCIAL SCIENCES: NEW APPROACHES AND PERSPECTIVES.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from distinguished academicians, researchers, and writers from India and abroad.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Sougand Akbarian, eminent Iranian University Professor of English Language. Mr. Pandurang Zade, President of the Mahatma Gandhi Education & Welfare Society, Parbhani, presided over the event as Chairperson. The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of esteemed chief guests, including Dr. Pandurang Barkale (RUSA), renowned Nepali poet Mr. Santoshkumar Pokhrel, Dr. G. V. Gatti, Dr. Kalyan Gangarde, and Dr. K. K. Patil, all of whom addressed the gathering with insightful remarks.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Milind Pandit, Principal, Matsyodari College, Ambad, who spoke on the changing directions of language and literary studies in the contemporary era. A plenary session followed, featuring scholarly presentations by Dr. Dilip Chavan, Dr. Vishnu Patil, Dr. Rajendra Gonarkar, and Dr. Nair (Mumbai), under the chairmanship of Dr. Mahendra Shinde.
In the post-lunch session, parallel paper presentations were held in two seminar halls, where researchers presented their work on diverse themes related to language, literature, culture, and the social sciences. These sessions were guided by resource persons Dr. A. S. Gangane, Dr. V. D. Satpute, Dr. Pandit Nirmal, Dr. Raman Mundhe, Dr. B. R. Gugane, and Dr. Girish Kousdikar, who offered valuable academic feedback and guidance.
The conference concluded with a formal Valedictory Function chaired by Dr. K. K. Patil, Principal, Shri Panditguru Pardikar Mahavidyalaya, Sirsala. The chief guests for the closing ceremony were Dr. R. T. Bedre, Professor-Director, UGC-MMTTC (formerly HRDC), Dr. Harisingh Gour University (Central University), Sagar, and Dr. R. S. Nitonde, Chairman, Board of Studies in English, SRTMU Nanded. Certificates were presented to all participants and paper presenters.
The conference received a total of 452 papers. Out of 344 full papers submitted, 56 were selected for publication in the UGC CARE-listed journal ShodhKosh: Journal of Visual and Performing Arts, as part of the special issue titled “Language, Literature and Social Sciences: New Approaches and Perspectives.”
