Abstract [English]

Traditional art forms represent the cultural identity, history, and values of communities across generations. However, globalization, modernization, and changing consumer preferences have significantly threatened the continuity of many indigenous and traditional artistic practices. Cultural sustainability has therefore become a critical area of research, emphasizing the preservation, revitalization, and transmission of traditional art forms while ensuring their relevance in contemporary society. This study explores the intersection of cultural sustainability and innovation in traditional arts, examining how modern technologies, creative reinterpretation, and community participation can support the survival and evolution of heritage-based artistic expressions. The paper analyzes the role of digital platforms, interdisciplinary collaborations, and adaptive design approaches in transforming traditional crafts, performing arts, and visual art practices without compromising their cultural authenticity. Additionally, it highlights how innovation-driven strategies—such as digital documentation, sustainable material use, and market-oriented design—can empower artisans and cultural practitioners economically and socially. By reviewing existing literature and case-based examples, the research identifies key challenges and opportunities associated with balancing preservation and innovation. The findings emphasize that integrating innovation with cultural heritage management can create resilient ecosystems that sustain traditional art forms while fostering cultural diversity, creativity, and long-term socio-economic development within local communities.
