PHILOSOPHY OF WOMEN'S MOVEMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF FEMINISM

Abstract [English]

The word movement itself symbolizes mobility and change. There have been many movements in this world. From the freedom movement to the Gokak movement, from the film distributors' demonstration to opposing globalization, from protesting price hikes to condemning the war-mongering policy of America.... The women's movement is one of the movements that have spread widely in history. It is, in a sense, very recent. In a sense, it is also very ancient. This is an attempt to look at the women's movement that has spread from the Sharana movement in which Akka Mahadevi also participated to today's Women's Reservation Bill, in the context of feminism. The illusion or hope that this might lay a solid foundation for the women's movement is making me think in this direction.

ಚಳವಳಿ ಎಂಬ ಪದವೇ ಚಲನಶೀಲತೆಯನ್ನು, ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಕೇತಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಚಳವಳಿಗಳು ಆಗಿಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಚಳವಳಿಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಗೋಕಾಕ ಚಳವಳಿಯವರೆಗೆ, ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ವಿತರಕರ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ, ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಯುದ್ಧ ದಾಹ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುವವರೆಗೆ…. ಹೀಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಹರಡಿಹೋಗಿರುವ ಚಳವಳಿಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಚಳವಳಿಯೂ ಒಂದು. ಇದು, ಒಂದು ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರಾ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನದೂ ಹೌದು. ಒಂದು ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನವೂ ಹೌದು. ಅಕ್ಕ ಮಹಾದೇವಿಯೂ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಶರಣ ಚಳವಳಿಯಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಮಸೂದೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಹರಡಿರುವ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಚಳವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀವಾದದ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ನೋಡುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಿದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಚಳವಳಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ತಳಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದಂತಾಗಬಹುದೇನೋ ಎಂಬ ಭ್ರಮೆಯೋ ಭರವಸೆಯೋ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.
