Abstract [English]

Adjustment and Self-Efficacy are psychological concepts closely associated with the holistic development of student’s personality. Both serve as essential foundations for promoting mental health, fostering a positive outlook, and achieving success in life. The present study aims to analyse the relationship between Adjustment and Self-Efficacy among undergraduate students. For this purpose, a sample of 120 students (60 males and 60 females) was selected through a simple random sampling method from colleges affiliated with Bundelkhand University, located in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. Adjustment was measured using the Adjustment Inventory for College Students developed by Dr. A.K.P. Sinha and Dr. R.P. Singh, while self-efficacy was assessed using the Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Dr. G.P. Bhatnagar and Dr. Rajkumari Bhatnagar. The data were analysed using statistical techniques such as Mean, Standard Deviation, T-test, and Product Moment Correlation. The findings indicated that female students had a better level of adjustment compared to male students, whereas males showed a higher level of self-efficacy than females. A positive and significant correlation was found between Adjustment and Self-Efficacy. Thus, it can be concluded that both Adjustment and Self-Efficacy contribute meaningfully to enhancing students’ mental well-being, confidence, and overall success in life.

समायोजन और आत्म-प्रभावकारिता विद्यार्थियों के व्यक्तित्व के सर्वांगीण विकास से संबंधित मनोवैज्ञानिक अवधारणाएं हैं। दोनों ही अवधारणाएं विद्यार्थियों के मानसिक स्वास्थ्य, सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण और जीवन में सफलता के महत्वपूर्ण आधार मानी जाती हैं। इस अध्ययन का उद्देश्य स्नातक स्तर पर अध्ययनरत विद्यार्थियों के समायोजन और आत्म प्रभावकारिता के मध्य संबंध का विश्लेषण करना है। जिसके लिए उत्तर प्रदेश के झांसी जिले में स्थित बुंदेलखंड विश्वविद्यालय से संबद्ध महाविद्यालयों से 120 विद्यार्थियों का चयन साधारण यादृश्चिक विधि द्वारा किया गया। जिसमें 60 छात्र एवं 60 छात्राएं सम्मिलित थी। विद्यार्थियों के समायोजन के मापन के लिए डॉ. ए.के.पी. सिंहा एवं डॉ. आर.पी. सिंह द्वारा निर्मित एडजेस्टमेंट इन्वेंटरी आफ कॉलेज स्टूडेंट का प्रयोग किया गया एवं आत्म प्रभावकारिता के मापन के लिए डॉ. जी.पी. भटनागर एवं डॉ. राजकुमारी भटनागर द्वारा निर्मित आत्म प्रभावकारिता मापनी का प्रयोग किया गया। आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण माध्य, मानक विचलन, टी-टेस्ट तथा प्रोडक्ट मूमेंट सहसंबंध विधि का प्रयोग कर किया गया। अध्ययन के निष्कर्षों के अनुसार स्नातक स्तर की छात्राओं का समायोजन छात्रों की तुलना में संतोष जनक पाया गया तथा आत्म प्रभावकारिता के स्तर पर छात्रों की तुलना में छात्राओं की आत्म प्रभावकारिता का स्तर कम पाया गया। समायोजन और आत्म प्रभावकारिता के मध्य सकारात्मक एवं धनात्मक सहसंबंध पाया गया। अतः कहा जा सकता है कि समायोजन और आत्म प्रभावकारिता दोनों ही अवधारणाएं विद्यार्थियों के मानसिक स्वास्थ्य को सुदृढ़ बनाने में सहायक हैं तथा विद्यार्थियों में सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण, आत्मविश्वास और जीवन में सफलता प्राप्त करने की क्षमता को भी प्रबल करती हैं।
