COMPARATIVE STUDY OF UPANISHADIC AND MODERN CONTEXTS OF SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE

Upanishads are highly respected in the world philosophical community as an inexhaustible repository of spiritual knowledge. Being ancient, these texts have been considered disconnected from modern concepts of spirituality, but through research it has been established that in the Upanishads, not only is the modern context of spiritual intelligence present but it is often found included in some form or the other. Comparative method has been used for the present research. On the basis of available data, information and facts, it is established that the spiritual intelligence expressed in the Upanishads is very practical despite being classical and is at par with modern concepts. On this basis, it can be said that the concepts of spiritual intelligence in the Upanishadic literature are not only in front of modern beliefs, but are also superior to them in many contexts. The study of these texts shows how the tradition of spiritual intelligence is growing from the Upanishads to modernity. The present study helps in understanding the common streams of values, principles, and cultural traditions of human life and also helps in understanding other forms of spirituality.

आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान के अजस्र भंडार के रूप में उपनिषदों को विश्व दार्शनिक समुदाय में बहुत सम्मान प्राप्त है। प्राचीन होने के कारण इन ग्रंथो को अध्यात्म की आधुनिक संकल्पनाओं से वियुक्त समझा जाता रहा है, किंतु शोध के माध्यम से यह स्थापित किया गया है कि उपनिषदों में आध्यात्मिक बुद्धिमत्ता जैसे अधुनातन संदर्भ की न केवल उपस्थित अपितु इसका समावेश प्रायः किसी न किसी रूप में पाया जाता है। प्रस्तुत शोध हेतु तुलनात्मक विधि का प्रयोग किया गया है। उपलब्ध आंकड़ों, सूचनाओं और तथ्यों के आधार पर स्थापित होता है कि उपनिषदों में व्यक्त आध्यात्मिक बुद्धिमत्ता शास्त्रीय होने पर भी बहुत व्यावहारिक है तथा आधुनिक धारणाओं के समकक्ष है। इस आधार पर कहा जा सकता है कि उपनिषद कालीन साहित्य में आध्यात्मिक बुद्धिमता की अवधारणाएं आधुनिक मान्यताओं के न केवल समक्ष हैं, अपितु अनेक संदर्भ में उनसे श्रेष्ठ भी हैं। इन ग्रन्थों का अध्ययन बताता है कि आध्यात्मिक बुद्धिमत्ता की परंपरा उपनिषदों से लेकर आधुनिकता तक कैसे बढ़ती जा रही है। प्रस्तुत अध्ययन मानव जीवन के मूल्यों, सिद्धांतों, और सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं की समान्य धाराओं को समझने में मदद करता है और आध्यात्मिकता के अन्य रूपों को भी समझने में सहायक होता है।
