There is nothing that can match the love of A.R. Krishnashastri for Kannada. Masti did not simply praise the Shastris and Venkannaiah as Ashwini deities. A.R. Krishna worked day and night for the upliftment of Kannada. The dream of Prabuddha Karnataka is one of such great deeds.
Prabuddha Karnataka's role among the forces that have continuously nurtured modern Kannada literature is notable and eternal. Prabuddha Karnataka, which has cultivated a taste for cultured reading dedicated to Kannada language and literature, is now one hundred and two years old! The first issue of this literary magazine was published in 1919 as the Ugadi issue of the Siddharthi Samvatsara. There is an unbreakable bond between Prof. A.R. Krishnashastri, who built and nurtured this as a form of penance, and the Kannada Sangha of Bangalore's Central College.

ಎ.ಆರ್. ಕೃಷ್ಣಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರೇಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಟಿಯಾದುದು ಯಾವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಮಾಸ್ತಿಯವರು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ವೆಂಕಣ್ಣಯ್ಯನವರನ್ನು ಸುಖಾಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಅಶ್ವಿನಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳೆಂದು ಹೊಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಎ.ಆರ್. ಕೃ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಏಳ್ಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ದುಡಿದರು. ಅಂತಹ ಅನೇಕ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕನಸೂ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ.
