This research paper explains the folk performing forms of the Ramayana, where this story emerged from religious texts and became a tradition in every village. The Ramayana was brought to the people through mediums like Ramlila, Pandavani, Nautanki, Bhavai, Kathakali and folk singing and dancing. Paintings and paintings also served to tell the story for those who could not read. Every region adopted the Ramayana according to its dialect, music and art. The research also states that in modern times, digital staging and the growing influence of media have posed many challenges to these folk arts. Despite this, some artists and institutions are engaged in saving these traditions. This study explains the cultural importance of Ram Katha, its role in folk arts and the need for preservation. The entire research makes it clear that Ram Katha is not just a religious story but is the cultural identity of the society, which needs to be promoted.
