With social change and development, it has also been observed that the progress of every society impacts all its sections. In Indian society, the tribal community is one that continues to struggle to protect its identity and resources. This struggle is not only economic but also social, cultural, and political. Serious questions are still being raised about the extent to which various developmental changes have affected the tribal community. Issues such as casteism, exploitation, and social discrimination persist in tribal society, and these challenges are effectively depicted in contemporary literature and novels.

समाज में परिवर्तन और विकास के साथ-साथ यह भी देखा गया है कि हर समाज की प्रगति का असर उस समाज के प्रत्येक वर्ग पर पड़ता है। भारतीय समाज में आदिवासी वर्ग वह है जो अपनी पहचान और संसाधनों की रक्षा के लिए लगातार संघर्ष कर रहा है। यह संघर्ष केवल आर्थिक नहीं, बल्कि सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक और राजनीतिक भी है। आदिवासी समाज पर आए विभिन्न विकासात्मक बदलावों ने उन्हें किस हद तक प्रभावित किया है, इस पर आज भी गंभीर प्रश्न उठ रहे हैं। आदिवासी समाज में जातिवाद, शोषण, और सामाजिक भेदभाव की समस्याएं बनी हुई हैं, जिनका चित्रण समकालीन साहित्य और उपन्यासों में भी बखूबी किया गया है।
