PUPPETRY : THE CARRIER OF TRADITIONAL FOLK MUSIC,CULTURE AND TRADITIONS

Abstract [English]

Indian culture is reflected in various forms of art, in which folk art playing a significant role. Among the diverse forms of folk art, puppetry is also included. Puppetry is a multifaceted and dynamic art form that has been captivating audiences for centuries. In puppetry performances, music holds as much importance as emotional expression does in painting. From ancient traditions to contemporary theater, music serves as an essential element in puppetry, narrating the story, creating the appropriate atmosphere, and providing rhythm and form to the performance. In ancient civilizations such as India, China, and Indonesia, the art of puppetry was celebrated as a form of religious influence and cultural festivity. In its evolved form, puppetry has also contributed to education and psychology. In classrooms, it has served as an effective audio-visual aid for learning, leaving a positive impact on the audience. In public awareness campaigns, the plays and stories crafted through puppetry stimulate the human mind, with the sound of music playing a special role in enhancing the experience. This research paper explores the role of music in the traditional performance of puppetry, highlighting how music integrates with puppetry to create a positive impact. It presents the coordination of music in enhancing the overall effect of the puppetry performance.

भारतीय संस्कृति का प्रतिरूप विभिन्न कलाओं में दर्शित होता है, जिसमें लोक कला का भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है। लोक कला के अन्तर्गत कठपुतली कला भी शामिल है। कठपुतली कला बहुमुखी एवं गतिशील कला का रूप है, जो कि शताब्दियों से दर्शकों को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करती आई है। कठपुतली प्रदर्शन में संगीत की भूमिका उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण है जितनी चित्रकला में भाव व्यंजना महत्वपूर्ण है। प्राचीन परंपरा से लेकर समकालीन रंगमंच तक संगीत एक आवश्यक तत्व के रूप में कठपुतली प्रदर्शन में कहानी व्यक्त करता है, उपयुक्त वातावरण बनाता है, व खेल में लय व रूप प्रदान करता है। प्राचीन सभ्यताओं में जैसे भारत, चीन एवं इंडोनेशिया में कठपुतली की कला एक धार्मिक प्रभाव एवं सांस्कृतिक उत्सव के रूप में मनाई जाती रही है। अपनी विकसित अवस्था में कठपुतली ने शिक्षा, मनोविज्ञान के क्षेत्र में भी अपना योगदान दिया। कक्षा में ज्ञानार्जन में एक श्रव्य, दृश्य सामग्री के रूप में सहायक रही यह दर्शकों पर एक साकारात्मक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करती है। जन जागरूकता अभियानों में इनके द्वारा रचित नाटकों, कथा- कहानियों का प्रभाव मानव मस्तिष्क को क्रियाशील बनाता है, जिसमें संगीत की ध्वनियाँ अपना विशेष महत्व रखती हैं। इस शोध पत्र के अंतर्गत कठपुतली के पारम्परिक प्रदर्शन में संगीत के समन्वय की क्या भूमिका है, संगीत किस प्रकार कठपुतली में सकारात्मक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करता है उसके समन्वय को प्रस्तुत किया गया है।
