The concept of "One Nation, One Election" proposes synchronizing elections for the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies to streamline India's electoral process, potentially reducing financial costs and governance disruptions. However, its implementation faces significant challenges. The paper aims to identify the managerial challenges in implementing ‘One Nation, One Election’ in India. The study is based on secondary information drawn from existing literature, expert opinions, policy reports, and government recommendations to highlight various complexities and proposed solutions. By doing so, this research will contribute to the ongoing discourse on the feasibility and implications of this electoral reform. The study finds that constitutional amendments, particularly Articles 83 and 172 and changes to the Representation of the People Act, pose legal complexities. Logistically, conducting nationwide elections requires substantial resources, and the risk of political instability, especially from mid-term dissolutions, requires contingency planning. Voter behavior and participation could be impacted by confusion and fatigue from simultaneous elections. A phased and strategic approach is essential to ensure success, addressing these challenges while maintaining electoral integrity and federal balance.
