Bilaspur, a city on the banks of Arpa river, is a culturally and historically rich city. The beauty of the city, like an island of peace full of diversity, delights the mind. The land of Bilaspur is geographically situated at an average height of 264 meters above sea level. The life-giving Arpa river irrigates the soil here and increases its fertility. The historical environment here gave birth to many revolutionaries who overthrew the British colonial power. From ancient times to the modern era, the land of Bilaspur attracted outsiders. This attraction was due to the historical culture, the environment of adjustment and the power of assimilation here.

अरपा नदी का तटीय शहर बिलासपुर सांस्कृतिक एवं ऐतिहासिक रूप से समृद्ध नगर है। विविधताओं से भरपूर शांति के टापू की भांति शहर की छटां मन को आनंदित करता है। बिलासपुर की धरती भौगोलिक दृष्टि से समुद्री तल से 264 मीटर की औसत उंचाई पर अवस्थित है। जीवनदायिनी अरपा नदी यहां की मिट्टी को सींचते हुए उपजाउपन में वृद्धि करती है। यहां के ऐतिहासिक परिवेश ने कई क्रांतिकारियों को जन्म दिया जिन्होंने ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक सत्ता को उखाड़ फेका था। प्राचीन काल से आधुनिक युग तक बिलासपुर की धरती ने बाहरी लोगो को आकर्षित किया यह आकर्षण यहां के ऐतिहासिक संस्कृति, समायोजन का वातावरण एवं आत्मसात करने की शक्ति इसका महत्वपूर्ण कारक था।
