Abstract [English]

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a multifaceted neurodevelopmental condition marked by challenges in social interaction, communication, and the presence of restricted or repetitive behaviors. The term "spectrum" highlights the variability in symptoms and their severity among affected individuals. This study explores the emotional, social, and behavioral characteristics of children exhibiting autistic features. A sample of 20 children was observed over a period of one month through therapy sessions. Data was collected using an inventory developed based on the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT). The findings revealed that emotional dysregulation and behavioral disturbances were closely linked to the core features of autism. Additionally, difficulties in social communication were found to be significantly associated with repetitive and stereotyped behaviors. These results suggest that such behaviors may serve as expressions of underlying emotional distress in children with autism. The study underscores the importance of therapeutic interventions that aim to enhance emotion regulation and social communication. Addressing these areas may help reduce maladaptive behaviors and improve overall functioning. These insights contribute to a better understanding of the emotional and behavioral dimensions of ASD, with implications for early diagnosis and targeted interventions.
