TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFTS OF UTTAR PRADESH

Abstract [English]

Uttar Pradesh is famous for its art, craft, culture and spirituality form ancient time. It contributes in Indian economy by its art, crafts and culture. Beautiful shapes and colours of Zari Zardozi 's work of Bareilly, Budaun, Kasganj and Lucknow impress common people as well as richest. Ideal of gods and goddesses of Mathura craft are the symbols of Indian ideals, imagination, and sentiments. Due to the dence forest there are plenty of wood in Chitrakoot. Manufacturing of cheap and beautiful wooden toys has been going for thousands of years in Chitrakoot district. Khurja is famous for its white poetry that are the best examples of art and craft. Lucknow is famous for its Chikankari and hand block textile printing. Meenakari jewellery, stone work and silk sarees of Varanasi is well known in India as well as in foreign countries. Agra is famous for its leather work, stone work and engraving. Carpets designs of Bhadoi, handicrafts of Munj grass of Lakhimpur khiri and Prayagraj are marvelous. Brass items of Aligarh and Moradabad are also world famous. Kasganj, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Unnao, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur and Saharanpur are famous for its beautiful art and craft works.

उत्तर प्रदेश की भूमि कला, संस्कृति, शिल्प, अध्यात्म और धार्मिक विचारों से ओत-प्रोत है। हस्तशिल्प, कृषि व उद्योग धंधों से बृहद रूप से जुड़े होने के कारण भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था में भी इस प्रदेश का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है। परंपरागत हस्तशिल्प कलाओं के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश सैकड़ो वर्षों से प्रसिद्ध रहा है। मथुरा शिल्प पूर्ण विकसित भारतीय परंपरागत शैली के स्वरूप में पूर्ण रूप से भारतीय आदर्श, भावनात्मकता व कल्पना के सम्मिलित प्रभावों के साथ विकास की ओर अग्रसर हुई। तत्कालीन समय में यहां की स्वनिर्मित शैली के अंतर्गत शिव, सूयर्, लक्ष्मी, कार्तिकेय, विष्णु, बलराम, दुर्गा आदि की मूर्तियां बनाने का प्रचलन अधिक था।

बरेली क्षेत्र में जरी-जरदोजी का कार्य बड़े पैमाने पर होता है, रंग-बिरंगे सुनहरे धागों से सुंदर रूप एवं आकार सभी को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करते हैं। वन क्षेत्र की अधिकता के कारण चित्रकूट जनपद में लकड़ी कुरइया के खिलौने का निर्माण वर्षों से चला आ रहा है। खुर्जा के सफेद मिट्टी के बर्तन कला और शिल्प के उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण हैं। इसी प्रकार लखनऊ की चिकनकारी, हैंड ब्लॉक टेक्सटाइल प्रिंटिंग और जरदोजी हस्तशिल्प के लिए प्रसिद्ध रहे हैं। बनारस सिल्क साड़ियों, खिलौने, मीनाकारी आभूषणों इत्यादि अन्य कई प्रकार की हस्तकलाओं के लिए जाना जाता है। आगरा जिला अपने चमड़े के काम के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विशेष प्रसिद्ध है। भदोही जनपद भी अपनी विशेष हस्तशिल्प कला के लिए प्रसिद्ध है जहां उत्कृष्ट डिजाइन वाले कालीन प्रशिक्षित शिल्पकारों द्वारा बुनें जाते हैं। उपरोक्त जिलों के अतिरिक्त उन्नाव, शाहजहांपुर, कासगंज, मैनपुरी इत्यादि भी अपनी विभिन्न हस्तशिल्प कलाओं के लिए विशेष पहचान रखते हैं।
