Abstract [English]

Maitreyi Pushpa has a unique identity in the world of fiction. She has showcased her extraordinary talent in various prose genres such as novels, short stories, essays, autobiography, and memoirs. Her fiction, especially her novels, vividly portrays the social environment from the post-independence era to the present day. She has extensively depicted the pathetic condition of women in a male-dominated system and the changes and struggles of resistance that emerged after independence. Pushpa has skillfully highlighted these circumstances in her novels. 'Smriti Dansh' (1990) was Maitreyi Pushpa's first novel. With 'Betwa Bahti Rahi' (1993), she established her presence in the world of novel writing, and 'Idannamam' (1994) earned her a distinct recognition in the literary world. Following this, 'Chak' (1997), 'Jhoola Nat' (1999), 'Alma Kabootari' (2000), 'Aganpakhi' (2001), 'Vijayan' (2002), 'Kahin Isuri Phag' (2004), 'Triya Hath' (2006), 'Gunah Begunah' (2011), and 'Farishte Nikle' (2014) were published. All these novels powerfully depict the struggles of women.
