ROLE OF STATE AND COMMUNITY IN PRESERVATION OF SHAIVA TRADITIONS (WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BILASPUR DISTRICT)

Abstract [English]

Shaiva traditions have been an integral part of Indian culture and religion, whose deep Shaiva roots have spread in this land for thousands of years. Both the state and the community have played an important role in preserving these traditions. While the state has been actively involved in preserving and promoting religious traditions through its policies and programmes, the community has fulfilled its social and religious responsibilities to keep these traditions alive. At the state level, the maintenance of religious places, preservation of Shaivite temples, promotion of Shaivite literature and scriptures, and promotion of the importance of Shaivite cultures have been important aspects. These traditions pervade various social aspects of the family and society, such as worship, festival celebrations and expressions of faith. The followers of the Shaivite sect perform their religious duties by following these traditions in their daily lives. This not only preserves traditions, but also builds religious tolerance and unity in the society. The aim of this research is to understand how both the state and the community preserve and promote Shaivite traditions.

शैव परम्पराएँ भारतीय संस्कृति और धर्म का अभिन्न हिस्सा रही है, जिनकी गहरी शैव हजारों वर्षों से इस भूमि में फैली हुई है। इन परम्पराओं को संरक्षित करने में राज्य और समुदाय दोनों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही है। राज्य, अपनी नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से धार्मिक परम्पराओं को संरक्षण देने और बढ़ावा देने में सक्रिय रूप से भागीदार रहा है, वही समुदाय ने इन परम्पराओं को जीवित रखने के लिए अपने सामाजिक और धार्मिक उत्तरदायित्वों का निर्वाह किया है। राज्य के स्तर पर धार्मिक स्थलों की देखरेख, शैव मंदिरों का संरक्षण, शैव साहित्य और ग्रंथो का प्रोस्ताहन, और शैव संस्कृतियों के महत्व को बढ़ावा देना महत्वपूर्ण पहलू रहे हैं। यह परम्पराएँ परिवार और समाज के विभिन्न सामाजिक पहलुओं में व्याप्त हैं. जैसे पूजा-पाठ, पर्व उत्सव और आस्था की अभिव्यक्तियाँ। शैव वर्ग के अनुयायी अपने दैनिक जीवन में इन परम्पराओं का पालन करते हुए अपने धार्मिक कर्तव्यों को निभाते है. जिससे न केवल में परम्पराएँ संरक्षित होती है, बल्कि समाज में धार्मिक सहिष्णुता और एकता भी बनती है। इस शोध का उद्देश्य यह समझना है कि राज्य और समुदाय दोनों शैव परम्पराओं को कैसे संरक्षित और बढ़ावा देते हैं।
