HISTORICAL STUDY OF CULTURAL STRUCTURE OF CHHATTISGARH: TRADITION, RELIGION, FOLK ART AND CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES

The cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh is a unique combined heritage of ancient traditions, tribal beliefs, folk arts and temple architecture, which reflects the social diversity of this region. This research systematically reviews the historical development of Chhattisgarh's cultural heritage, in which religious, social and architectural aspects of ancient and medieval periods have been analyzed. The research has specially highlighted festivals like Hariyali (Harela), Bhojali, traditional arts like Karma dance, wall painting and major cultural places like Sirpur and Malhar.
In addition, this study also highlights the contradictions and syncretism between mainstream religion and folk religion, where worship of village deities and religious rituals are deeply embedded in the social structure. The influence of modernity, urbanization, education and digital technology has raised new questions about cultural identity, but at the same time has also created opportunities for innovation for preservation. This research underlines the need for cultural preservation through policy reforms and educational initiatives.

छत्तीसगढ़ की सांस्कृतिक विरासत प्राचीन परंपराओं, जनजातीय आस्थाओं, लोक कलाओं और मंदिर स्थापत्य की एक अनूठी सम्मिलित धरोहर है, जो इस क्षेत्र की सामाजिक विविधता को प्रतिबिंबित करती है। यह शोध छत्तीसगढ़ की सांस्कृतिक विरासत के ऐतिहासिक विकास की क्रमिक समीक्षा करता है, जिसमें प्राचीन एवं मध्यकालीन कालखंडों के धार्मिक, सामाजिक और स्थापत्य पक्षों का विश्लेषण किया गया है। शोध में हरियाली (हरेला), भोजली जैसे पर्वों, कर्मा नृत्य, दीवार चित्रांकन जैसी पारंपरिक कलाओं तथा सिरपुर व मल्हार जैसे प्रमुख सांस्कृतिक स्थलों को विशेष रूप से रेखांकित किया गया है।
इसके अतिरिक्त, यह अध्ययन मुख्यधारा धर्म एवं लोकधर्म के मध्य अंतर्विरोधों और समन्वय की प्रक्रिया को भी उजागर करता है, जहाँ ग्राम देवी-देवताओं की पूजा और धार्मिक अनुष्ठान सामाजिक संरचना में गहराई से जुड़े हुए हैं। आधुनिकता, शहरीकरण, शिक्षा और डिजिटल तकनीक के प्रभाव ने सांस्कृतिक पहचान को नए प्रश्नों के समक्ष लाकर खड़ा किया है, परंतु इसी के साथ संरक्षण हेतु नवाचार के अवसर भी उत्पन्न हुए हैं। यह शोध नीतिगत सुधारों और शैक्षणिक पहल के माध्यम से सांस्कृतिक संरक्षण की आवश्यकता को रेखांकित करता है।
