A GREAT POET, THINKER AND LITERARY FIGURE OF HINDI LITERATURE: SUMITRANANDAN PANT

This study is based on the life and literary contribution of Sumitranandan Pant, a leading poet of the Chhayavaad (Symbolism) movement in Hindi literature. Born in 1900 in Kausani village of Uttarakhand, Pant's poetic journey spanned almost six decades (1916-1977). His poetic development can be divided into three major phases: the first phase was of Chhayavaad poetry, the second phase was of progressive poetry influenced by Marxism and Freudism, and the third phase was inspired by spirituality and philosophical ideas. Pant's major poetry collections include Veena, Pallava, Yugantar, Chidambara, and Rajat Shikhar. He was awarded prestigious awards like Sahitya Akademi Award and Jnanpith Award. This study focuses on his poetic inclinations, intellectual influences and literary legacy. In addition, Pant's house has been converted into the 'Sumitranandan Pant Sahitya Vithika' museum in Kausani, where his personal belongings and handwritten manuscripts have been preserved. Through this study an attempt has been made to understand Pant's literary contribution and his wide-reaching influence.

यह अध्ययन हिंदी साहित्य में छायावाद (सिंबोलिज़म) आंदोलन के प्रमुख कवि सुमित्रानंदन पंत के जीवन और साहित्यिक योगदान पर आधारित है। 1900 में उत्तराखंड के कौसानी गाँव में जन्मे पंत की काव्य-यात्रा लगभग छह दशकों तक फैली रही (1916-1977)। उनके काव्य-विकास को तीन प्रमुख चरणों में विभाजित किया जा सकता है: पहला चरण छायावादी काव्य का था, दूसरा चरण मार्क्सवाद और फ्रायडवाद से प्रभावित प्रगतिवादी काव्य का, और तीसरा चरण अध्यात्मिकता और दार्शनिक विचारों से प्रेरित था। पंत के प्रमुख काव्य-संग्रहों में वीणा, पल्लव, युगांतर, चिदंबरा, और रजत शिखर शामिल हैं। उन्हें साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कार और ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार जैसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों से नवाजा गया। इस अध्ययन में उनके काव्य-प्रवृत्तियों, बौद्धिक प्रभावों और साहित्यिक धरोहर पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया है। इसके अलावा, पंत के घर को कौसानी में ‘सुमित्रानंदन पंत साहित्यिक वीथिका’ संग्रहालय के रूप में परिवर्तित किया गया है, जहाँ उनकी व्यक्तिगत वस्तुएं और हस्तलिखित पांडुलिपियाँ संरक्षित की गई हैं। इस अध्ययन के माध्यम से पंत के साहित्यिक योगदान और उनके व्यापक प्रभाव को समझने का प्रयास किया गया है।
