MAHADEVI VARMA'S LIFE, CONTRIBUTION AND LITERARY LEGACY

Abstract [English]

This study focuses on the life, contribution and literary legacy of Mahadevi Varma, who is known as 'Meera of the modern age' in modern Hindi literature. She became a prominent signature of Hindi literature due to her significant contribution to the Chhayavaad poetry stream. Themes such as love, suffering, unity of the inanimate and the conscious, aesthetic feeling and mysticism are prominent in her writings. This study analyses her poetry and prose works, including her famous poetry collections such as Yama, Rashmi, Neerja etc., and highlights the symbolism and deep mentality in her writings. Mahadevi Varma made significant contributions not only in poetry but also in prose genres such as essays, sketches and memoirs. Her literature not only depicts personal emotions but also shows her deep sensitivity and awareness towards society and culture. Additionally, the study also highlights her awards and national honours, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Jnanpith awards. This study highlights Mahadevi Varma's literary influence and her invaluable contribution to Hindi literature. Her writings gave a new direction to Hindi literature and her works are still alive among readers.

यह अध्ययन महादेवी वर्मा के जीवन, योगदान और साहित्यिक धरोहर पर केंद्रित है, जिन्हें आधुनिक हिंदी साहित्य में 'आधुनिक युग की मीरा' के रूप में जाना जाता है। छायावाद काव्य धारा में उनके महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के कारण वह हिंदी साहित्य की एक प्रमुख हस्ताक्षर बनीं। उनके लेखन में प्रेम, पीड़ा, जड़ और चेतन का एकात्म्य, सौंदर्यानुभूति और रहस्यात्मकता जैसे विषय प्रमुख हैं। यह अध्ययन उनके काव्य और गद्य रचनाओं का विश्लेषण करता है, जिनमें उनके प्रसिद्ध काव्य संग्रह जैसे यामा, रश्मि, नीरजा आदि शामिल हैं, और उनके लेखन में प्रतीकात्मकता और गहरी मानसिकता को उजागर करता है। महादेवी वर्मा ने न केवल कविता में, बल्कि निबंध, रेखाचित्र और संस्मरण जैसी गद्य विधाओं में भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया। उनके साहित्य में न केवल व्यक्तिगत भावनाओं का चित्रण है, बल्कि समाज और संस्कृति के प्रति उनकी गहरी संवेदनशीलता और जागरूकता भी है। इसके अतिरिक्त, अध्ययन उनके पुरस्कारों और राष्ट्रीय सम्मान को भी दर्शाता है, जिनमें पद्म भूषण, पद्म विभूषण और ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार शामिल हैं। इस अध्ययन के माध्यम से महादेवी वर्मा के साहित्यिक प्रभाव और उनके द्वारा हिंदी साहित्य में किए गए अमूल्य योगदान को रेखांकित किया गया है। उनके लेखन ने हिंदी साहित्य को नई दिशा दी और उनकी रचनाएँ आज भी पाठकों के बीच जीवित हैं।
