Abstract [English]

The aim of this study is to examine in depth the social and economic structure of child labour with reference to shoe industry in Agra district. Child labour is a social abuse which seriously affects the development and future of children. This research analyses the economic and social reasons which force children to work. Child labour is common in the shoe industry in Agra district where they have to work under difficult conditions. The study used data obtained from interviews with local workers, industry owners and officials. The findings suggest that poverty, lack of education and absence of effective policies promote child labour. Child labour is a serious social abuse which affects the future of children especially in developing countries. Through this research an attempt has been made to find out how economic and social factors force children to work.

इस अध्ययन का उद्देश्य आगरा जिले में जूता उद्योग के संदर्भ में बाल श्रम के सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक संरचना की गहराई से जांच करना है। बाल श्रम एक सामाजिक दुर्व्यवहार है, जो बच्चों के विकास और भविष्य को गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित करता है। इस शोध में आर्थिक और सामाजिक कारणों का विश्लेषण किया गया है, जो बच्चों को काम करने के लिए मजबूर करते हैं। आगरा जिले में जूता उद्योग में बच्चों का श्रम आम है, जहाँ उन्हें कठिन परिस्थितियों में काम करना पड़ता है। अध्ययन मंम स्थानीय श्रमिकों, उद्योग मालिकों और अधिकारियों के साक्षात्कार से प्राप्त डेटा का उपयोग किया गया। निष्कर्ष बताते हैं कि गरीबी, शिक्षा की कमी और प्रभावी नीतियों की अनुपस्थिति बाल श्रम को बढ़ावा देती हैं। बाल श्रम एक गंभीर सामाजिक दुर्व्यवहार है, जो विशेष रूप से विकासशील देशों में बच्चों के भविष्य को प्रभावित करता है। इस शोध के द्वारा यह पता लगाने का प्रयास किया गया है कि आर्थिक और सामाजिक कारक किस प्रकार बच्चों को काम करने के लिए मजबूर करते हैं।
